All club Concession registrations are to be ratified by the Dating Officer (Club President) as per the rules of the Club. When re-applying to join the Club as a current member and wanting to change to Concession registration please identify this in your application renewal documentation.

FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK


Thanks to everyone for contributing stories, photos. Without you there would be no REV’S. We are always looking for interesting stories, member profiles and/or articles for the REV’S.
Please present articles as you wish to see them published e.g. spelling & grammar. We will endeavour to reproduce all submissions faithfully. If your name or address is incorrect either in articles or on address labels, many apologies. Please contact us and we will amend to the correct spelling in order to avoid future mistakes.
Closing date for submission of articles for May 2010 Revs by 14th May 2010 – Editor.
Please ensure you forward all details prior to this date as changes cannot be implemented once Revs has been printed If not received by given date it will go in the next month’s REVS.
Thought of the Month: Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their bum when they ask where the bathroom is?

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT April 2010


This year is off and running at a hectic pace already and with so much to do between now and the 20th Nationals over the Xmas New Year period this year we will all be very busy.

GM Roundup 26th September:A special thanks to all those undertaking functions for GM Roundup, we will still need other members to assist and must keep focused as time is running away fast this year. Flyer and the entry form, later in the Revs. Please get your entry in for this event and consider how and when you can help. Can you assist with sponsorship? If so please call Dudley or myself. We will be having trade stands and a swap meet on the day, entry for the swap will be $10 and includes one adult and must be prepaid these forms will be available soon.

Our Club Meeting arrangements:Please note that the next and future meetings will be at the Rocklea Show Society centre, Rocklea Showgrounds starting with the next meeting on the 10th May. Entry is via Goburra Street off Ipswich Rd Service road. We also have a working bee to move from our current premises, please assist where you can. We need to know if you can be there so that Craig & Donna can cater for lunch.

The Mini Humpy RunPlease note meeting times and requirements of numbers planning to attend for catering etc, Contact Justin if you can make it. It should be a great day as usual and a lot of planning has gone into the day.

National Motoring Heritage Day16th May, get your car out on the road and enjoy with other historical vehicles and celebrate the day in whatever way you can.

MINUTES of April MEETING

held 12.04.2010 Meeting opened 7.30pm Chaired by John Whitten

Apologies:

Tony & Jill Manganaro, Bruce Cremin, Wayne Carr, Peter & Terry Dofter, Sue Ross, Keith & Deneice Tronc, Bruce Johnston, Robert Monument and Alan Parkinson. John advised of Alan’s health and that he was still in hospital, Get well soon Alan.

Secretary:

Previous meetings minutes were from the March meeting. John called for any amendments, Nil to the record printed, Steve Jeffs moved that the Minutes be accepted, John Gager seconded and passed by meeting.

John detailed, inward correspondence – 5 magazines (others to be presented next meeting due to Wayne’s absence) FX-FJ Holden Club of Australia Melbourne Chapter March 2010, Tappet Chatter Caboolture Regional car Club March, All Torque Combined Coastal Car Club March, FX-FJ Holden Club of Canberra March 2010, and the Mini Mag for February.

Treasury:

Donna tabled bank balance and income and expenditure for the month, Steve moved that the statement be accepted, 2nd by Justin Kreiger, passed by meeting

Social:

• Justin advised re the following;
• The Mini Humpy run on the 23rd May and is looking for numbers,
• Southport Surf life Saving club proposed for 20th June (more info to follow,
• Wintersun on 13th June,
• RACQ Motor Fest on the 11th July, and
• Morgan Park raceway Warwick on the 24th & 25th of July (very reasonable priced camping if you want to go to the both days and our members will have their race cars there).
• Also called for interest a fish and chip run.

Membership:

We have 107 Members which 6 are life members. Three interested members this month.

Publications & Website:

• The 2010 GM Roundup information etc is now on our website.

A.E.H.F:
Dudley has nothing to report. Still haven’t heard anything from National co-ordinators..

Please note we also have the following still for sale Programs $2, belt buckles $15, Car badges $10 and hat badges at $7, Don Lofler signed books at a special club price. (call John or Dudley)

Q.E.H.D:
John advised Nil information, two clubs had responded saying that they want to wind up, one other club interested in running the event in the future, no others have responded.

GM Roundup:
John advised that we needed sub committee members to be responsible for running this event. A list of functions was read and then John called for representatives from the floor. John thanked all those volunteering to make this event happen. Flyer and entry form later in the Rev’s.

Swap & Sell conducted.

• Steve is looking for a tandem car trailer,
• John Entjes is looking for an FX/FJ Parcel shelf,
• Ernie has a list of items for sale,
• John advised of a stock FJ Utility for sale, still registered (Q plates), one owner, asking price $2 5k, if interested call John.

General Business:
• Discussed the future of club meeting room arrangements and issues regarding storage etc. John put forward that we rent a shed at Rocklea Show grounds and that we rent and move to Rocklea Show Society rooms for the May meeting. John Turnham moved this option, seconded by Dudley Monement and passed by the meeting. Please note change of venue for next meeting.
• John called for a working bee starting at 9am at the Scout Den to move all our belongings to a shed at the Showgrounds. Please bring tray bodies/utes / trailers, trolleys etc. The club will provide lunch etc (Craig & Donna). The back deck has also to be painted weather permitting plus a general clean up.
• Cheryl advised of a Studebaker collection at Glen Eagle, more info has been requested.
• Cheryl advised that the 16th of May is the National Motoring Heritage Day and all historical vehicles are encouraged to be on the road this day.
• Reproduction Bumper bars for FX/FJ are now available at Lawnton.
• Dallas is selling fibre glass bumper bars for FX/FJ’s.
